MISS CARBÓN TRIUNFA EN LOS GLAAD MEDIA AWARDS

LA PELÍCULA, PROTAGONIZADA POR LUX PASCAL Y PACO LEÓN, HA SIDO GALARDONADA COMO “MEJOR PELÍCULA DE STREAMING”

La película MISS CARBÓN fue galardonada el pasado jueves 5 de enero como “Mejor película de Streaming” (Outstanding Film – Streaming or TV) en los GLAAD Media Awards, celebrados en Los Ángeles.

Desde su creación en 1990, los GLAAD Media Awards han crecido hasta convertirse en la gala anual de premios LGBTQ más visible del mundo, enviando mensajes poderosos de aceptación a audiencias de todo el mundo.

MISS CARBÓN, dirigida por Agustina Macri, relata la historia real de Carlita, Carla Antonella Rodríguez, la primera mujer minera en una región de Argentina en la que las mujeres tenían prohibido el acceso al trabajo en las minas.

La película está protagonizada por Lux Pascal, actriz chilena-estadunidense que debuta en esta película en su primer personaje protagonista; Lux ha trabajo en cortometrajes como Bust, recientemente nominado a Best Short Film en Sundance y próximamente protagonizará Guerra de verano, la próxima película de la premiada directora Alicia Scherson, basada en el libro El Tercer Reich de Roberto Bolaño. El filme cuenta con la colaboración especial de Paco León (actor en películas como El insoportable peso de un talento descomunal o No mires a los ojos y director de títulos como Rainbow, la multipremiada Arde Madrid, Kiki, el amor se hace, Carmina o revienta y Carmina y amén).

MISS CARBÓN es una coproducción hispano-argentina producida por MORENA FILMS y THE WARNING OF RIVARD AIE de la mano de Merry Colomer y María Soler, en coproducción con PENSA Y ROCCA CINE, que cuenta con la participación de MOVISTAR PLUS+ y FILMIN , y el apoyo de INCAA y Programa Ibermedia.

Sobre MISS CARBÓN

Inspirada en hechos reales, MISS CARBÓN es una historia de superación sobre la pasión y esos sueños que no entienden de géneros. Carlita logró ser la primera mujer minera en un pueblo donde las mujeres tenían prohibida la entrada a la fuente principal de ingresos de la región: la mina de carbón. Una superstición consideraba que las mujeres eran amenaza de derrumbe y el trabajo minero se les reservaba a los hombres. Carlita, como mujer trans, logró ingresar en la mina rompiendo el sistema desde dentro y prendiendo la chispa de una revolución.
